On October 26th and November 30th, we’re inviting singers to join us at St. Nicholas Church, Dalkeith, as we practice Haydn’s “Missa in Angustiis”, commonly known as the “Lord Nelson Mass”. The Dalkeith Singers will be performing this piece at our Christmas Concert, and we’d like to welcome anyone with experience singing in an SATB choir as we spend a day honing our knowledge of the piece, helping you to learn faster than you might on your own.

| Suitable for: | People with experience singing in choirs. If you’re new to singing, please get in touch regarding one of our taster events specifically tailored for new singers. |
What you’ll need
- To know whether you sing as a soprano, alto, tenor or bass.
- The ability to follow sheet music as you practice.
- To listen to learning tracks in advance, which we’ll send you when you register.

Once you register, you’ll gain access to online sheet music and learning tracks, so you can gain a good understanding of what you’ll be singing in advance.
The event runs from 10am – 5pm, with an hour’s break for lunch. The cost is £10 and includes a free copy of the sheet music for the Nelson Mass. Members of the Dalkeith Singers and Broughton Choral Society can attend for free.

Please note: as we are performing this piece in December, there will not be a formal concert at the end of the day. Instead, these workshops facilitate a mid-term entry into the Dalkeith Singers for anyone who wants to join us in singing the work with our star soloists on Saturday 14th December.
