We had an amazing SOLD OUT concert on 12 December at our usual venue in Dalkeith. It was so good to see everyone in the audience engaged in the beautiful fairytale that Robert Schumann gifted the world in 1851. We loved the opportunity to collaborate with the wonderful professional soloists, who really did Schumann justice.
We ended the night with some well-loved Christmas songs and yes, we did see you singing along in the audience!
We also raised a lot of well-needed funds for the Lothian Cat Rescue, who is our chosen charity for this term.
We must take a moment to thank everyone who made our concert such a success:
- Our Patron, the Earl of Dalkeith
- Our sponsor, McDougall McQueen Solicitors
- Our volunteers on the night
- The Orchestra
- The Soloists
- Every member of The Dalkeith Singers
- And last but not least, our Musical Director, Callum Huseyin
The Winter term has been a hard one, but with commitment and hard work, we got through it. It was a challenge, but it paid off!
We will be taking a well-earned rest over the Christmas and New Year break, but will be ready for the new term kicking off on Thursday 8 January 2026. If you’re interested in joining us for the new term (we’ve got a real treat for our Summer Concert!), drop us an email at secretary@dalkeithsingers.org.uk and let’s chat about it. We’re an inclusive, welcoming, choir and you won’t need to audition.
See you soon!
